• Q: What is the difference between PDH vs. PDU vs. CPD vs. CPC vs. CEU?
  A: These acronyms are all related to the continuing education:
  
  • PDH means Professional Development Hour. 1 PDH = 1 clock hour. Most states board for PE & PLS use PDH.
  • PDU means Professional Development Unit. 1 PDU = 1 PDH.
  • CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. It’s most commonly used in Ohio and Louisiana.
  • CPC stands for Continuing Professional Competency.
  • CEU stands for Continuing Education Unit. 1.0 CEU = 10 PDH.
  Although the terminology changes from state to state, the meaning is the same. Each PDH, CPD, or CPC credit is equivalent to one hour of training time.
• Q: How many PDH do I need to meet my board requirement?
  A: The required number of PDH credits varies by state. Most states require 15 PDH on an annual basis or 30 PDH on a biennial basis. For Florida, you need to complete 18 PDH for each biennium ending on Feb. 28 of odd year.
• Q: Will the PDH credits from PDH365.com be accepted by my board?
  A: Only Florida, Maryland and New York require their licensees to take courses from the pre-approved course provider. We are currently pre-approved in Florida (Provider #0007918) and North Carolina (Provider #S-0722). Since our courses are accepted by Florida and North Carolina, our courses are also accepted by Indiana State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. We are currently awaiting approval for New York.
  
  For other U.S. states, Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors are responsible for maintaining their licensure through continuing education activities that meet board requirements. All PDH365.com courses and webinars have been designed to meet the requirements of these states that do not have formal pre-approval processes. All PDH365.com’s online courses and live webinars comply with the guidelines set forth by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), the model used by most states when designing their continuing education requirements.
• Q: What type of course are deemed acceptable by my board?
  A: The rules vary from state to state, but there is a general rule of thumb. The course or activity has to have a defined purpose and objective that will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge in the licensee’s field of practice. Usually, courses of technical nature are acceptable to all state boards.
• Q: How do I cancel my package subscription?
  A: You can self-service cancel a package subscription in your account's Course Packages page. Click the "Manage Subscription" link next to the subscription you would like to cancel. If you are having trouble canceling your subscription, you can contact us here.
• Q: What is an online course?
  A: Internet courses are accepted by all states that require engineering continuing education provided that the student passes a quiz to successfully complete the course, the quiz is graded, and the results are kept on file by the course provider for a prescribed length of time (the number of years varies for each state).
• Q: What is a live webinar?
  A: Webinars are accepted for PDH credit by all states that require engineering continuing education (except Illinois Structural Engineers). Engineers licensed in Ohio are required to complete a quiz for PDH credit; otherwise, webinar participants are not required to complete a quiz.
• Q: What is your return/refund policy?
  A: For individual course purchases and at any time within 12 months of your purchase, if you are not satisfied with an online course and choose not to complete it, PDH365 will exchange the course for another of equal or lesser value.

  If within 30 days of your purchase you are not satisfied with an online course and choose not to complete the course, PDH365 will exchange the course for another of equal or lesser value or refund the cost of the course.

  If you complete an online course and your state licensing board does not accept it on the basis of course quality, PDH365 will refund the cost of the course (upon proof of state board denial).
