To really understand the capabilities of GIS, you need to learn cartography, spatial and statistical analysis, database management, and programming. This course introduces students to the history of GIS development and the basic GIS concepts such as layers, data formats, and data analysis methods. In addition, students will learn some of the common applications of GIS and the popular GIS software.
At the end of this course, there will be a multiple-choice, open-book quiz, which is designed to enhance your understanding of the course material.
