Course Outline
The concrete slab-on-grade floor is often the least noticed, but the most used, part of the building. This course summarizes design and construction practices covering the following areas: structural aspects, location of insulation, drainage, termite and wood decay control, and radon control. It also includes a checklist to be used during the design and construction of a slab-on-grade foundation.
At the end of this course, there will be a multiple-choice, open-book quiz, which is designed to enhance your understanding of the course material.

- Know how to manage water/moisture surrounding a building;
- Become familiar with a series of construction details for slab-on-grade construction;
