Course Outline
This course provides a detailed overview of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and its practical application within the context of urban and rural signage. We will look at the basics of when it applies, why we use it, how to use the manual, and how to control traffic with signage, covering proper installation and usage of signs. Emphasis will be given to understanding and applying the MUTCD. It also aims to illustrate the importance of consistent road signs and markings in reducing road accidents and enhancing traffic efficiency. This course is ideal for civil engineers, traffic management professionals, road safety inspectors, urban planners, and others who would just like to expand their knowledge in traffic control and road safety.
