Course Outline
This course provides an essential overview of FEMA flood mapping products and their applications. While the video contents are tailored for Iowa and New Hampshire community officials, it also equips design professionals with a strong foundation in FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports, and Letters of Map Change (LOMCs). Participants will learn how to effectively utilize these tools to manage flood risks, enforce local floodplain regulations, and support the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
At the end of this course, there will be a multiple-choice, open-book quiz, which is designed to enhance your understanding of the course material.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, the student will:
