Utilizing AC 150/5300-13B, participants will learn to navigate the complexities of modern airfield planning to create facilities that are both operationally efficient and inherently safe.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, the student will:

• Be able to apply Runway Design Codes (RDC) and Taxiway Design Groups (TDG) to establish precise airfield dimensions.
• Be able to configure airfield layouts that minimize the risk of runway incursions and wrong-surface events.
• Be able to define and protect critical safety zones, including the Runway Safety Area (RSA) and Runway Protection Zone (RPZ).
• Be able to navigate the Modification of Standards (MOS) process to address site-specific design constraints.
