Emergency Egress Standards (Video Course)

Course Outline

Every design professional should become familiar with the emergency egress requirements that play an essential role in the design of modern life/safety systems in all buildings. Besides occupancy load calculations, this course covers the requirements regarding travel path safety, door swings, locked doors, dead-end corridors, numbers of exits, minimum exit access width, and maximum egress travel distance. In addition, the course materials demonstrate the importance of life safety considerations by examining several past tragedies due to building fires.

At the end of this course, there will be a multiple-choice, open-book quiz, which is designed to enhance your understanding of the course material.
