Course Outline
This course provides engineers and land surveyors with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely enter and work in confined spaces. The training covers how to identify and evaluate permit-required confined spaces, control hazards, use gas detection monitors, follow entry procedures, and understand the roles and responsibilities of the entry supervisor, authorized entrants, and attendants. The course includes a checklist for testing, monitoring, cleaning, ventilation, isolation, clothing/equipment, respiratory protection, and standby/rescue. A sample permit is also included for reference. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to implement a permit-required confined space program that complies with OSHA 1910.146 and ensures the safety of workers who enter confined spaces.
At the end of this course, there will be a multiple-choice, open-book quiz designed to enhance your understanding of the course material.
Learning Objectives
