Course Outline
This course equips engineers, contractors and construction site personnel with the essential knowledge and skills required for safe entry and operation within confined spaces. Students will learn to identify and assess permit-required confined spaces, manage hazards effectively, utilize gas detection monitors, adhere to proper entry protocols. The course explains the distinct roles and responsibilities of the entry supervisor, authorized entrants, and attendants.
The course material also includes a checklist that covers testing, monitoring, cleaning, ventilation, isolation, clothing/equipment, respiratory protection, and standby/rescue. Students will also have access to a sample permit for practical reference.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be prepared to implement a permit-required confined space program that aligns with OSHA 1910.146 standards, thereby ensuring the safety and compliance of workers involved in confined space operations.
At the end of this course, there will be a multiple-choice, open-book quiz designed to enhance your understanding of the course material.
Learning Objectives
