Course Outline
The global positioning system (GPS) has become an integral part of our everyday lives. From mobile phones to cars, it's almost impossible to go a day without using this technology. This course explores the history, current operation, and future of GPS technology. It aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the entire GPS infrastructure, including its management by the United States Air Force, the importance of timing standards for various applications, and the role of satellites and their continuous monitoring and control. Students will learn about the pivotal role GPS has played in areas such as navigation, precision agriculture, aviation, emergency services, space exploration, autonomous vehicles, and more.
At the end of this course, there will be a multiple-choice, open-book quiz designed to enhance your understanding of the course material.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, the student will:
