Course Outline
Land title surveys play a critical role in real estate transactions and property development. Understanding these surveys and their minimum standard detail requirements is crucial for professionals involved in these areas. This course offers a detailed examination of the 2021 Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, enabling students to grasp not just the letter of the standards, but also the principles and practices underpinning them. The course focuses on key updates and their implications on surveying practice. This includes a review of the standards and the rationale behind any updates, understanding the frequency and reasons for these updates, and exploring specific changes and their impact on surveys. A highlight of the course is a thorough exploration of Table A’s optional items, providing valuable guidance on their implementation. To better illustrate the changes from the 2016 version, a redline version is also provided, allowing participants to closely examine and appreciate the updates to the current 2021 standards.
