Course Outline
Licensed professionals, such as land surveyors, hold a privileged position within society, with a unique responsibility for public health, safety, and welfare. Accordingly, the services provided by professional land surveyors require honesty, impartiality, fairness and equity. This course presents an overview on the codes of ethics for land surveyors, describes the boundary mapping process, provides a summary of the stakeholders involved in the process, and provides the National Society of Professional Surveyor’s (NSPS) Creed.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, the student will:
- Become familiar what ethics are
- Understand how to apply ethics in a professional setting
- Understand the stakeholders involved during the boundary survey process
- Become aware of their duties and responsibilities as licensed professionals
