An Introduction to Building Codes (Timed & Monitored)

Course Outline

A building code is a set of rules that specifies the standards for constructed objects, such as buildings and nonbuilding structures. This course provides basic guidance and easy-to-use tools to help engineers and property owners understand building codes. The course materials cover a brief history of building code development, the difference between the International Building Code and International Residential Code, international codes adoption by state and territory, why building codes are important, and when building codes enter the public domain.

At the end of this course, there will be a multiple-choice, open-book quiz, which is designed to enhance your understanding of the course material.
