AISC Basic Design Values
- Course Number: S1013
- Credits: 4 hours
- Instructor: Helen Chen, Ph.D., PE
- Price: $40
Course Outline
American Institute of Steel Construction published an easy-to-use Basic Design Values Card for engineers to quickly find useful equations in design. These equations are derived or simplified from those in the ANSI/AISC 360-16, Specification for Structural Steel Buildings, 2016 Edition. This course provides engineers with the background information on the equations contained in the Card so that engineers can have a better understanding and hence fully and effectively utilize the Card in their design work.
At the end of this course, there will be a multiple-choice, open-book quiz designed to enhance your understanding of the course material.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, the student will:
- Understand the equations contained in the AISC Basic Design Value Card;
- Understand the basic design background information of ANSI/AISC 360-16; and
- Understand how to use the Card effectively in design work.
