Course Outline
American Institute of Steel Construction published an easy-to-use Basic Design Values Card for engineers to quickly find useful equations in design. These equations are derived or simplified from those in the ANSI/AISC 360-16, Specification for Structural Steel Buildings, 2016 Edition. This course is to provide engineers with the background information of the equations provided in the Card so that engineers can have a better understanding and hence fully and effectively utilize the Card in their design.
At the end of this course, there will be a multiple-choice, open-book quiz designed to enhance your understanding of the course material.

- Understand the equations provided in the AISC Basic Design Value Card;
