Course Outline
The 8th Edition (2023) of Florida Building Code, Existing Building, became effective on December 31, 2023. This course will overview the major changes included in this 8th Edition as compared to the previous 7th edition (2020), and provide the rationale, as needed, for the changes. The revised contents will be highlighted in yellow.
At the end of this course, there will be a multiple-choice, open-book quiz, which is designed to enhance your understanding of the course material.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, the student will:
- Become familiar with some of the significant changes included in the 8th Edition of the Florida Building Code - Existing Building (FBCEB);
- Understand the rationale of the changes; and
- Help users to easily locate the changes in the building code.
